LMB Book Drive

LMB Book Drive

In collaboration with the Liberty Market Building Team, we hosted the 2016 Children’s Book Drive – the second annual donation drive. Donations were collected between May 15 to July 15, 2016 and were displayed in a retail unit in Liberty Market Building’s Galleria. The support from the retail and office tenants as well as the surrounding community was overwhelming. It was great to see the Liberty Village community come together and rally to support the Children’s Book Bank.

The Children’s Book Bank is a charitable organization whose mission is to provide children’s books and literacy programs to underprivileged children. The Children’s Book Bank operates like a children’s bookstore, except that the books are available at absolutely no cost. Since 2008, Children’s Book Bank has distributed an average of 250 books per day!

Generous authors even donated some of their personal books, including Loris Lesynski who donated a box of her famous “Boy Soup” books. After the book drive was completed, over 300 new and gently-used books were collected and sent off in the Children’s Book Bank truck to help encourage education and literacy amongst children in our beloved city.
